From the concrete jungles of heavy metal and arena rock to the dirt roads and backwoods of country music, Ron Keel's career has taken him around the world and across the borders that separate the styles of music that he creates and performs.
As the frontman for hard & heavy bands like KEEL, Steeler, Saber Tiger, and Fair Game (he also spent a brief moment in time with Black Sabbath), he's sold millions of albums, toured the world as a headliner and opening act for a number of industry heavyweights, plus notched several hits on radio and MTV including "The Right To Rock," "Because The Night," "Tears Of Fire," and "Somebody's Waiting."
As a country music artist he has released an award winning solo album, toured military bases throughout Europe and honky tonks and rodeos across America - including headlining the 2010 Frontier Days Rodeo event (the world's oldest rodeo). The union of his rebellious rock & roll spirit and his appreciation for the honesty and emotion of country music resulted in the band IronHorse, a southern rock hybrid which released two acclaimed albums (2001 & 2004) and performed over 700 shows coast to coast.
As a songwriter, Ron's compositions have been featured in many TV shows ("Desperate Housewives," "X-Files," "The Simpsons," "King Of The Hill," "Guiding Light," and more) and major films ("Men In Black II," "Dolphin Tale," "The Messengers," "Chill Factor," "1000 Acres" and many others), and his songs have been recorded by other artists such as Vixen, Charlie Tatman, and Jesse & Noah Bellamy.
As a tribute artist since 2004, Ron has been performing nationwide in the "Brooks & Dunn Tribute" - transforming into Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn, country music's all time most successful vocal duo. He has served as the co-creator, co-producer and star of "Country Superstars Tribute," a major Las Vegas production show appearing at the Golden Nugget for the past two years.
In 2009 KEEL celebrated their 25th anniversary with a successful reunion tour and in 2010 released a brand new album, "Streets Of Rock & Roll," on Frontiers Records, as well as concert appearances at major festival events like Rocklahoma, M3, MidWest RockFest, and the South Texas Rock Festival. 2011 highlights included the band's return to Europe as a headliner for the first time, and KEEL secured a coveted spot on the 2012 “Monsters Of Rock Cruise” which also featured Cinderella, Tesla, Night Ranger and others.
With over 50 albums to his credit, Ron shows no signs of slowing down. Current projects include COWBOY BAND, which combines his original music with his Ronnie Dunn tribute, and hosting "Las Vegas Stripped," Sin City's most rocking acoustic jam/open mic night; he is writing his autobiography for 2012 publication, hosting his own "Streets Of Rock & Roll" radio show, and writing songs for his upcoming solo album. A self-characterized "musical nomad," Ron Keel has stood the test of time since his groundbreaking debut "Steeler" album in 1983 right up to the 2010 release of "Streets Of Rock & Roll" and "The Right To Rock: 25th Anniversary Edition," the commemorative remastered release of the classic major label debut produced by KISS' Gene Simmons.
